Doppi Hair Ties

One of a kind $10

Cut from handwoven yardage, so the exact placement of the dye pattern is unique to this piece — it may sit a little differently than in the photos.

A miniature doppi — the traditional Turkic cap — rebuilt as a 2in hair tie in atlas ikat, hand-made in Uzbekistan.

Materials
Handwoven atlas ikat silk offcuts wrapped over a soft elastic cord.
Care
Spot clean with a damp cloth; keep dry and out of direct sun to protect the dye.
Fabric origin
Traditional Uzbek atlas ikat.

Doppi. Doppu. Doppa. — the name shifts by region, but the square cap it names is recognized as a symbol of Turkic identity across the world. This hair tie takes that shape and rebuilds it at a wearable scale: a 2in x 2in square, hand-made in Uzbekistan from atlas ikat.

It’s a literal piece of the cap rather than a print referencing it — small enough to wear every day, but built from the same textile lineage as the rest of the shop.

Wear one stacked with the others, gift a set to someone who’ll recognize what it is, or keep a single one on your wrist as a small, portable piece of where the pattern comes from.
